Heather Reid has four years experience as a reporter for daily and weekly newspapers on Vancouver Island. In addition she has at various times run a Christmas tree farm and retail outlets, planted trees, worked as a fisheries observer and as a whale-watching guide at sea. Heather Reid lived and worked in Asia for two years as an English teacher and has enjoyed outdoor travel adventures at home and abroad.
